Season’s Greetings Cup Check Nation,
The first Thanksgiving celebration between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans at Plymouth (now Red Sox nation) circa 1621, offers a largely contested and blurry picture of what actually went down. Due to shoddy record keeping, we don’t know the exact details or exact day even of the first celebration… turns out nobody could tweet a picture of the feast and tag everyone who was there from their iPhone.
Nowadays, nearly 400 years later, Thanksgiving is still about getting together and expressing our gratitude. Thanksgiving is a day for family, friends, feasts, fun (I’m out of “f’s”), reflection and gratitude and sometimes a touch football game thats been tradition forever where somebody always ends up getting hurt and eating their turkey in the other room because they’re pissed and want to make a point.
This off-season, when you are together with your loved ones, I have a challenge for you. Today before you slip into a deep, pie and apple cider (or spiked eggnog as the case may be) induced coma:
1.Reflect on and be grateful for what you DO have.
2. To those you love, appreciate and respect in your life, LET EM KNOW!( dont be THAT GUY blasting out a mass text)
From The Cup Check Family to yours…thank YOU!…and Happy THANKSgiving!
The Cup Check…protect the goods.
