So check this out. Google has this useful tool (among the laundry list of others) called “Google Voice”. What’s Google Voice you ask. It’s a FREE program that takes all of about three minutes to set up. You can acquire a brand new phone number that directs calls to your existing home or mobile phone number. In short, Google Voice gives you a single phone number that rings all of your phones, saves your voicemail online, and transcribes your voicemail to text. Other features include the ability to listen in on messages while they’re being left, block unwanted callers, and make cheap international calls.
Now we are not suggesting any breaches in fidelity or promiscuity here (as in those who have a main line and then a “bat phone” for “other” purposes). But say for instance you wanted to make up some business cards for lessons that you’re giving and you didn’t want to give out your personal number or plaster it all over the internet. Google voice keeps your privacy intact and provides your start up business instant legitimacy. Pretty cool right?
Hop online and head to Google Voice. From there simply follow the prompt and bingo, your bat phone is locked and loaded.
